What are you doing?

What are you doing? Have you been living life to the fullest with the abundant life that Jesus spoke about in the scripture? Living the life that God wants for you is simple, but not easy.  Think about where you are in life in different areas like your career, finances, love, and all the other roles that you have and hats that you wear. Think about if you are content. Then, think about are you pleasing God? Are you doing what He called you to do? Doing what God called you to do will make you content and free and is the most important thing. The Bible speaks in John 10:10 and say s, " The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have   it   more abundantly." Jesus came that you may have the abundant life. Do you have a vision for your life or are you existing haphazardly? God has a purpose for you! What are you doing? Over the next few posts, we will be doing some vision work, 2 minutes at a time.

Vision Planning: Making Your Dreams Come True - Part 2

You want to have a personal vision and mission statement in order to have direction in life. When different opportunities come your way, these statements will help you to determine whether they are advantageous and will prosper you or distractions that may deter you.

When doing these exercises, pray about each word you use and your life's journey.

YOUR PERSONAL VISION STATEMENT

It is important to write down and have for yourself a clear personal vision. A vision is where you want to go in life and is so grand that may take your entire life to attempt to attain. It helps you to design and map your life. Your vision will help with your decision-making in the long-term and the short-term. When you have a vision, you can align your actions and endeavors with it. Think about who do you want your vision to reach, what are your values, and what you like to do (go back to your lists as needed). As an example, I will provide my personal vision:

“A world where everyone I meet is encouraged, motivated, and has access to the resources they need.”

Now, on the next page of your notebook, write down a great, clear long-term vision in one to three sentences. If you are having trouble, read the next part of this post and come back to this section.

YOUR PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT

Your mission is a succinct statement that encompasses how you will attain your vision.

As an example, my personal mission statement is as follows:

To encourage, motivate, and be a resource to others by utilizing my God-given talents and abilities.”

Now, on the next page, write down your mission statement of how you will attain your vision. You can find other examples at the end of this post.
